Softphone and browser dialer
Every member gets a browser dialer inside the Comcent web app. It is a WebRTC softphone, so agents need only a browser and a headset.
What the dialer does
Section titled “What the dialer does”- Dial pad for numbers and member usernames, with DTMF tones during a call.
- Outbound number picker to choose the caller ID (see Outbound caller ID).
- Incoming call panel with Answer, Decline and Ignore, a ringtone and browser notifications. Other calls waiting at the same time are listed under Also Waiting.
- Mute and Hold. You can hold several calls, start a New call, and Resume Call later.
- Blind Transfer and Attended Transfer (see Call transfers).
- Status menu to set your presence: Available, On Break or Logged Out.
- The dialer window can be dragged anywhere on the screen.
How it connects
Section titled “How it connects”The dialer registers with Comcent over SIP on a secure WebSocket at wss://<COMCENT_DOMAIN>:5063/sip-ws, using your SIP username and SIP password. Closing the browser or losing the connection unregisters the dialer and sets your status to Logged Out; when it registers again your previous status is restored.
If the dialer cannot register on a self-hosted instance, see Troubleshooting.
Use your own SIP phone
Section titled “Use your own SIP phone”You can also register a desk phone or a softphone app. The SBC accepts registrations on port 5060 (UDP and TCP) with digest authentication.
